Description
Civilian epee of the 18th century
The so-called epee developed as a civilian weapon during the Baroque period. Over time, the rapier replaced the rapier in the 17th century, as a rapier became too bulky for the times.
This was due to the increased population growth and the resulting lack of space at the time. Rapiers were mostly carried by the upper class of society.
This replica is made of a blade of high quality spring steel (EN45) and is not sharpened. The hand guard and guard element are made of brass. The hilt is made of wood and is wrapped with brass wire.
The scabbard is made of wood and wrapped with leather. It also features brass fittings and carrying rings, as well as a hook for attaching the sword scabbard to a belt.
