honey wine
For centuries, mead has been made and drunk in no small quantities, and was also considered a remedy. The fact that a mixture of water and honey produces a very tasty and intoxicating drink can only be a gift of the gods. Especially in the Middle Ages, honey wine was not only popular at festivals and ceremonies, but was also a normal everyday drink, comparable to beer. In the year 1000 it was also common in the monastery of St. Gall to serve mead together with cheese as a dessert.
Mead is excellent to drink hot or warm in winter evenings, whereas it can also be drunk cold on hot summer days. It is thus simply an excellent companion on action-packed celebrations, as well as on cozy get-togethers on the terrace.
