This bow from IDV Engineering is designed for anyone looking for a reliable bow for LARP, medieval re-enactment or use in inclement weather. The concept is simple and effective: a fibreglass core is encased in a semi-rigid, highly durable polyurethane foam – the result is a bow that is exceptionally robust.

The bow is resistant to dry firing, knocks, impacts, moisture and direct sunlight. It can be bent to over 180° without breaking – a feature that would simply not be possible with conventional bows. Anyone who has ever witnessed a bow giving up the ghost following an unfortunate fall at a medieval market or LARP site knows exactly how valuable this resilience is. Whether it’s rain, heat or the inevitable dry-firing: this bow can take it.

With a draw weight of 18 lbs at a 28-inch draw length and a total length of 1400 mm, it is well suited to beginners and advanced archers who prefer a lightweight, easy-to-handle bow for recreational use. The combination of GRP and PU foam also makes it LARP-safety compliant for use with appropriate LARP arrows.
