Hexagonal medieval lantern with horn windows

This beautiful lantern made of sturdy iron impresses with its six side windows made of real horn, which provide a warm, soft light. Almost all parts are riveted, which underlines the quality of the craftsmanship. The lantern has a practical door on the back, so that a candle or small oil lamp can be easily inserted. An S-hook for easy hanging is also included.
Historically, lanterns were already widespread in the early Middle Ages and served as a portable light source in living spaces, on nighttime paths, or even as signal lights on ships. The use of horn discs instead of glass was typical and gives this lantern its authentic look.
