Treating your boots with a high-quality leather balm immediately after purchase lays the foundation for long-lasting durability. Leather is not a static material – it gives way. New leather needs time to break in, and anyone wearing their boots for the first time at a convention lasting several hours will feel this. Plan the first one or two outings specifically as a break-in period: shorter stretches, changing boots in between where possible.
