Medieval gambeson with leather and detachable sleeves

This gambeson, also known as an aketon or armor jerkin, was indispensable in the Middle Ages for all those who had to carry the burden of chain or plate armor. It reduced the severity of enemy blows and made wearing heavy armor more bearable.
This gambeson is made of three layers: The outer layer of robust cotton canvas, polyester padding and a soft cotton lining make it lightweight yet protective. The elaborate quilting - diamond-shaped on the upper body, horizontal at the waist and vertical on the hips and arms - gives it both stability and flexibility.
Particularly stressed areas are reinforced with robust leather, making the gambeson not only durable but also attractive in appearance. The sleeves, fastened with nesting straps, can be removed as desired so that the gambeson can be made to fit all year round and for different occasions.
The front center is securely fastened with leather straps and metal buckles. The high collar protects the neck and increases the wearing comfort of chain mail or other pieces of armor.
Whether on the battlefield, at a tournament or in the peace and quiet of the camp - this gambeson is a faithful companion.
