Pompeji Gladius blunt with scabbard and strap total length 73 cm

The original of this 1st century typically shaped Roman gladius was recovered from the city of Pompeii, which was buried in 79 AD

The unsharpened blade was hand forged from carbon steel, the pommel and quillons were carved / turned from wood. The handle is made of bone. The gladius comes with a red-brown leather covered wooden scabbard with brass applications.
