Hand-woven wool blanket
Very beautiful 100% virgin wool blanket hand-woven from hand-spun wool on old wooden looms. Blankets like these are very rarely made and are good replicas of the originals from the Middle Ages. The blankets are never made from one piece; depending on the size, they are hand-sewn from two to three pieces, as there were only very narrow looms in the Middle Ages. These blankets are made on looms just like those used in the Middle Ages.
The wool comes from mountain sheep from the region and is only washed in spring water, so it contains the valuable lanolin (fat) which makes the blankets very dirt-resistant and almost waterproof. The wool is not dyed, unless the blanket has colored (orange, red, etc.) stripes. The wool of these stripes is naturally dyed with onion skins, among other things.
Due to the dense weave, the heavy quality and the existing wool grease, the blankets are extremely heat-insulating and also withstand rain showers well. This makes them ideal for any camp!
