International Viking and Medieval Festival on Bornholm
From 4 to 9 August 2026, Bornholm's Medieval Centre in Gudhjem invites you to a large international Viking and medieval gathering. The centre, located on a cliff overlooking Gudhjem and the sea, is a unique living museum that reconstructs life in a medieval town from around 1350.
For one week, re-enactors and Viking enthusiasts from all over Europe will gather in Gudhjem to create an authentic historical environment with battle scenes, jousting tournaments, historical camps and a medieval market. The international focus ensures an impressive selection of costumes, weapons and craft techniques from both the Viking and medieval periods. Children and families can participate in workshops on medieval crafts and Viking customs.
Bornholm is easily accessible by ferry from Copenhagen, Ystad and Sassnitz. Experience the island's scenic surroundings combined with the historical gathering.
