The Drachenstich Festival is one of Germany’s oldest open-air theatre events. In Furth im Wald in the Bavarian Forest, there has been a tradition for a hundred years: every year, the legendary Drachenstich performance takes place, in which a giant mechanical dragon is slain. The festival runs from 31 July to 16 August 2026 with numerous performances.
