About Medieval festival with jousting tournament Kaiserslautern
Medieval festival with jousting tournament Kaiserslautern 2026 – Easter spectacle at Gelterswoog in Rhineland-Palatinate
Every Easter, Gelterswoog in Kaiserslautern becomes a medieval setting. From 4 to 6 April 2026, the large lawn of the beach and leisure pool will once again be transformed into a lively medieval market with a knights' tournament. In close cooperation with Lorraine Medievale and the Gelterswoog beach, a three-day spectacle for the whole family will take place here.
Tradition by the lake
The medieval market at Gelterswoog has become a firm tradition and now takes place twice a year. With around 500 to 1,000 visitors per day and up to 30 exhibitors as well as six knight camps, the event offers an authentic insight into life in the Middle Ages.
Programme and attractions
The highlight is the grand knight tournament, where warriors show off their skills on horseback. Musical entertainment is provided by bands such as Capud Draconis with their powerful bagpipe and drum music, and Les Derniers Trouveres from Burgundy with their courtly sounds. Juggler Timelino plays pranks and juggles, and in the evenings, the duo Infinity presents a magnificent fire show. For children, there is Didi's dragon carousel, a hand-driven carousel, mouse roulette, wheel of fortune, and archery and crossbow shooting.
Opening hours and admission
Open on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Monday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission: £9 for adults, £6 for children and those in costume.
