Easter Knight Tournament at Lembeck Castle 2026 – Lance jousting at the moated castle near Dorsten in North Rhine-Westphalia
Following their successful debut last year, the knights are returning: from 4 to 6 April 2026, a large knights' tournament on horseback will once again be held on the extensive meadows of Lembeck moated castle in Dorsten, North Rhine-Westphalia. For three days, the noble gentlemen will cross their lances – against the romantic backdrop of one of the most beautiful baroque castles in the region.
Moated castle as a medieval backdrop
Lembeck Castle, an impressive 17th-century Baroque castle, is surrounded by extensive parkland. Located in the district of Recklinghausen, its historic ambience provides the perfect backdrop for the medieval spectacle. The first jousting tournament in 2025 attracted several thousand visitors to the castle grounds.
Programme and entertainment
In addition to the jousting tournament, there will be a colourful medieval market with traders and craftsmen. Minstrels such as "Cradem Aventure" will play on old instruments, master juggler Lupus will show off his juggling skills and artists from Prague will perform acrobatics at lofty heights. For children, there is the cuddly dragon Kalida with fairy tales and stories. Taverns and food stalls provide food and drink.
Opening hours and admission
The knight tournament is open from Saturday to Easter Monday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission: £15 for adults, £8 for children, £10 for those in costume. Pre-school children are admitted free of charge. Families only pay for one child.
