Knights on horseback in Laxenburg Palace Park – Weekend 1
On 19 and 20 September 2026, Laxenburg Palace Park in Lower Austria invites you to the first of two jousting tournament weekends. Laxenburg Palace Park, an imperial summer palace south of Vienna with a sprawling English landscape park, a system of ponds and the neo-Gothic Franzensburg, provides a fairytale setting for the jousting tournament on horseback.
Professional tournament riders and exhibition fighters from various European countries will compete in fast-paced jousting matches and spectacular sword-fighting displays. A colourful medieval market with craftspeople, traders and food specialities invites you to browse. Jugglers and musicians provide atmospheric entertainment for the whole family. The event is particularly recommended for families with children, as the castle park offers plenty of space to explore.
