More than 500 Vikings gather at the Ribe Viking Centre
From 27 April to 3 May 2026, the International Viking Market will be held at the Ribe Viking Centre – one of Europe’s largest and most authentic Viking markets. Ribe, Denmark’s oldest town, has a natural connection to the Viking world, and the Viking Market is a highlight of the town’s annual programme.
For seven days, more than 500 Vikings from across Europe flock to the Viking Centre’s gravel fields and longship harbour. They set up camp in historical tents and build using the actual tools and materials the Vikings used. Merchants, blacksmiths, weavers, tanners and warriors demonstrate craftsmanship, trade and combat. Visitors can try their hand at archery, watch ship-launching re-enactments, listen to sagas told by the campfire and shop for authentic Viking crafts. The centre is open daily from 10:00 to 15:30.
Ribe Viking Centre is also a living archaeological museum with reconstructed houses and professional guides, making it suitable for the whole family.
