Wassenberg Castle Spectacle 2026 – Jousting Tournament on the Lower Rhine
From 8 to 10 May 2026, Wassenberg Castle in Wassenberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, will be transformed into a medieval tournament venue. The Castle Spectacle at Kuestersgaesschen 11 offers three days of jousting, crafts and festivities.
Wassenberg Castle
Wassenberg Castle sits enthroned on a hill on the edge of the Lower Rhine lowlands. The historic castle complex, with its striking keep and ancient walls, provides an impressive backdrop for the medieval spectacle.
Programme and attractions
The focus is on jousting tournaments and exhibition fights. There will also be juggling, a fire show, medieval music and craft demonstrations. Historical goods will be on sale at numerous market stalls. For children, there will be hands-on activities and knightly games.
Opening hours
The castle spectacle is open on Friday from 4 pm to 10 pm, Saturday from 11 am to 10 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm.

Adults: Fri €10 Sat & Sun €13
Children: Fri €7 Sat & Sun €9
Families: NEW! Families (2 parents) pay only for the first child!
Discounts: People in costume (dressed in medieval attire from head to toe)
and those with a disability card (70% or more) receive a discount of €2 each. As always, wheelchair users pay only the children’s admission price!
