About Medieval Fair of Monforte de Lemos
Crafts, gastronomy and entertainment in the monumental historic centre of Galicia
From 25 to 26 April 2026, the city of Monforte de Lemos in Galicia will host its Medieval Fair. This Galician city, known for its impressive monuments – the Parador in the former Benedictine monastery, the Torre del Homenaje, the Convento de la Merced and the medieval churches – offers one of the most impressive settings for a medieval market in the whole of northern Spain.
During the weekend, the historic centre is filled with artisans specialising in traditional techniques: basket weaving, stonemasonry, handmade footwear, Galician silver jewellery, fabric dyeing and canning. Medieval Galician cuisine takes centre stage with stalls selling empanadas, Galician-style octopus, artisan cheeses and Ribeira Sacra wines. Street theatre performances, folk music and medieval dance exhibitions enliven the journey through the city's ancient stones.
