Ruehn Grand Monastery Market 2026 – Medieval market bustle at the monastery
On 9 and 10 May 2026, the historic Ruehn Monastery in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will open its doors for the Great Monastery Market. Visitors can look forward to an atmospheric medieval market atmosphere in the former Cistercian nunnery.
Ruehn Monastery – Historic Venue
Ruehn Monastery near Buelow, founded in the 13th century, is one of the oldest monastic complexes in Mecklenburg. The Romanesque-Gothic monastery church and the surrounding buildings provide an atmospheric backdrop for the medieval market.
Programme and Attractions
Within the monastery walls, craftsmen and traders showcase their skills and wares. Medieval music, jugglers and storytellers entertain the visitors. The market stalls tempt visitors with handmade products, herbal goods and culinary delicacies.
Opening hours and admission
The monastery market is open on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.
Admission: €5.00 per day or €8 for the whole weekend. Children under 12 go free.
