About Crown Knight Tournament Rosenburg Castle - 2nd WE
Europe’s unique tournament grounds – the Krone Knights’ Tournament at Rosenburg Castle
On 10 and 11 October 2026, the Krone Knights’ Tournament at Rosenburg Castle enters its second round of the autumn season. Anyone who missed the first weekend in October will have another chance at the second date to experience this unique tournament spectacle at Europe’s only active tournament grounds.
Rosenburg Castle in the Kamptal region of Lower Austria, a magnificent Renaissance castle, has been home to the tradition of the knights’ tournament for centuries. The oval tournament arena, with its three-storey arcades dating from the 16th century, provides a uniquely architectural backdrop for the programme: equestrian acrobatics, jousting duels, falconry displays and historical sword-fighting shows. The spectacle is aimed at visitors of all ages and also offers informative insights into the history of medieval tournament traditions.
