About Leipzig envelope
17th Leipzig Umschlag 2026 – The big medieval and fantasy fair
When the medieval scene comes back to life after hibernation, the Leipziger Umschlag is traditionally the first major meeting place of the year. On 7 and 8 March 2026, the 17th edition of this unique medieval and fantasy fair will take place at the agra Messepark Leipzig – the largest event of its kind in Germany.
Date and opening hours
Leipzig Umschlag 2026 opens on Saturday, 7 March, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and on Sunday, 8 March (Family Day), from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This year, the fair will occupy Hall 2 of the agra Messepark with a more attractive open space on the south side.
What can visitors expect?
Over 5,000 m² of hall space and spacious open areas are transformed into a medieval department store that is second to none. Over 110 stands from eight countries – Germany, Poland, Czechia, Austria, France, England, Holland and Slovakia – will present handmade goods: clothing, leather goods, armour, jewellery, musical instruments, woodwork, soaps and much more.
Various musicians, jugglers, artists and knights provide a varied stage programme. The newcomer competition offers young artists a platform – the best participants receive the coveted "Golden Envelope". The highlight on Saturday evening is the performance of the cult band "Storm Seeker" at 8 p.m. On Sunday, Compania Chaotica, Leisetöner and Molli Morgenstern and his entourage will be playing, among others.
