Luther’s Wedding – Wittenberg Historical City Festival 2026
From 12 to 14 June 2026, Lutherstadt Wittenberg in Saxony-Anhalt will celebrate the historic town festival ‘Luther’s Wedding’. The town centre of this Reformation city will be transformed into a lively journey back in time to the 16th century.
Lutherstadt Wittenberg – Cradle of the Reformation
Lutherstadt Wittenberg is inextricably linked with Martin Luther and the Reformation. The historic old town, with its Castle Church, Town Church and Luther House, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town festival commemorates the wedding of Martin Luther and Katharina von Bora in 1525.
Programme and attractions
The town festival offers a varied programme: historical parades, a re-enacted wedding ceremony, a medieval market, music and theatre. The entire town centre becomes a stage. Historical goods and food are on offer at numerous stalls.

Opening hours: Fri 5pm–10pm, Sat 11am–11pm, Sun 10am–6pm. Admission: €18.
