About Bayeux Medieval Festival

Three days of free medieval festivities around Bayeux Cathedral

From 3 to 5 July 2026, the town of Bayeux (Calvados, Normandy) will be turning back time for the 39th edition of its Médiévales festival. A real cultural and family event, it attracts more than 50,000 visitors every year to the streets of Bayeux – now considered the third largest medieval festival in France.

The festivities kick off on Friday evening with the Grand Parade, one of the largest of its kind in France, where more than 500 participants – companies, artists and associations – parade with fantastic creatures, stilt walkers, acrobats, fire-eaters and musicians. The medieval market is open from Friday evening. Throughout the weekend, there will be historical re-enactments, street performances, concerts, a games garden, a medieval building site and taverns – all in an exceptional architectural setting dominated by the Romanesque cathedral of Bayeux.

The detailed programme for this 39th edition will be unveiled in May 2026 on the official website.

Free admission to all events.
Address:
Bayeux town centre, 14400 Bayeux.
