About Toledo Medieval Market
Toledo's UNESCO World Heritage sites as the backdrop for the most iconic medieval market
From 1 to 5 May 2026, the imperial city of Toledo will host its Medieval Market on the Paseo de Recaredo, at the foot of the Arab and Visigoth walls that surround the historic centre, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Toledo, the 'City of Three Cultures' where Christians, Muslims and Jews coexisted for centuries, offers the most powerful historical backdrop in Spain for a medieval market.
For five days, more than a hundred artisans set up their workshops and shops in the open air: armourers and sword smiths from Toledo (the city has been famous for its steelwork since ancient times), potters, glassmakers, silver and copper jewellers, leatherworkers and spice merchants from the Mediterranean. Archery shows, medieval combat, street theatre and troubadour music enliven the afternoons. The sight of the medieval walls illuminated at dusk is one of the most spectacular moments of the event.
Information on timetables and the programme can be found on the municipal website.
