19th Knight Easter Festival at Spandau Citadel 2026 – Medieval spectacle in Berlin's historic fortress
When Spandau Citadel opens its gates to knights and jugglers at Easter, one of Europe's most important Renaissance fortresses becomes a medieval spectacle. From 4 to 6 April 2026, the 19th Easter Knight Festival will take place in Berlin-Spandau – three days full of tournaments, music and historical market bustle.
Renaissance fortress as a medieval backdrop
Built in the 16th century, Spandau Citadel served as a defensive structure and military base for centuries. Today, it is a cultural venue with museums and exhibitions. With its mighty walls, courtyards and towers, it offers the perfect setting for a knights' festival – all museums and exhibitions can be visited at no additional cost during the festival.
Programme and attractions
The centrepiece is the jousting tournaments on horseback and authentic man-to-man knight fights. Three stages feature historical music, theatre, acrobatics, fakir and fire shows. The finale is a mystical fire riding show. Craftsmen demonstrate their skills, while jugglers, minstrels and jugglers provide entertainment. Children can enjoy hand-operated carousels and the Ferris wheel, mouse roulette and the juggler school.
Opening hours and admission
The Knight Festival is open daily from Saturday to Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission: €14 for adults, €7 for children aged 6-16, €11 reduced, family ticket €35. Children under 5 and knights in full armour are admitted free of charge.

The Spandau Citadel is located at Am Juliusturm 64, 13599 Berlin. It can be reached by the U7 underground line (Zitadelle station), bus X33 or S-Bahn S3/S9 to Spandau.
