Lichtenau Jousting Tournament 2026 – Tournament at the castle near Ansbach
From 4 to 7 June 2026, the Lichtenau Jousting Tournament will take place at Lichtenau Castle near Ansbach, Bavaria. Over four days, Lichtenau Castle (86 Lichtenau, 91586 Lichtenau) will become the setting for spectacular jousting tournaments and a bustling medieval market.
Lichtenau Castle – A fortress in Middle Franconia
Lichtenau Castle is an imposing 16th-century fortress near Ansbach in Middle Franconia. The well-preserved complex, with its bastions and moats, provides an impressive backdrop for the jousting tournaments.
Programme and attractions
The highlight is the jousting tournaments with spectacular mounted combat. There are also exhibition fights, juggling, a fire show and medieval music. Numerous traders and craftspeople round off the programme. There are hands-on activities for children.
