About Montblanc Medieval Week
Ten days of a Festival of National Tourist Interest in the walled town of Vila Ducal
From 8 to 17 May 2026, the ducal town of Montblanc in Catalonia celebrates the Medieval Week of Montblanc, a festival that goes far beyond the limits of a week and bears the seal of Festival of National Tourist Interest. Montblanc, with its 14th-century medieval walls – the best preserved in Catalonia – and its Gothic buildings, is the ideal setting for this total immersion in the past.
For ten days, the ducal town lives to the rhythm of the Middle Ages: a medieval market in the main square with craftsmen, spice merchants and blacksmiths, dragon shows (the legend of Sant Jordi is particularly deeply rooted in Montblanc), jousting tournaments, medieval dances, historical theatre and children's activities. The celebration of the legend of Saint George and the dragon, which according to tradition was defeated within the walls of Montblanc, is the most exciting moment of the programme.
