About Week-end Médiéval d'Amboise

Knights and troubadours in the royal town on the Loire

On 30 and 31 May 2026, the royal town of Amboise in the Loire Valley celebrates the Middle Ages during the Amboise Medieval Weekend. Known for its royal castle overlooking the Loire and its connection to Leonardo da Vinci, Amboise provides the perfect setting for this immersion in medieval France.

For two days, the heart of the town comes alive to the rhythms of drums, bells and clashing swords. On the programme: jousting matches, falconry displays, a medieval crafts market offering ceramics, jewellery, leather goods and medicinal herbs, as well as street entertainment featuring jugglers, fire-eaters and storytellers. Paid performances featuring medieval performing arts are also scheduled, costing around €5.

The Medieval Weekend is organised in the spirit of the great popular festivals of the Loire Valley, accessible to all generations. General admission is free; events take place during the day from Saturday to Sunday, from 10am to 6pm.

Address: 21 Rue Saint-Denis, 37400 Amboise.
