Fantastic Magic Village Kranichfeld 2026 – Magic and the Middle Ages at Niederburg Castle
On 21 and 22 March 2026, Niederburg Castle in Kranichfeld, Thuringia, will be transformed into a fantastic magic village. Within the ancient walls of the 12th-century castle, visitors can look forward to a fascinating event that combines the Middle Ages, fantasy and magic – an experience for the whole family.
Date and opening hours
The magic village is open on Saturday, 21 March, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, 22 March, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
What can visitors expect?
The Fantastic Magic Village offers a unique mix of magic shows, fire shows, music and dance. Numerous market stalls from the themes of fantasy, the Middle Ages, steampunk and gothic invite visitors to browse. Medieval bands and artists provide entertainment on stage.
Kranichfeld is picturesquely situated in the green heart of Thuringia, centrally located between Erfurt, Weimar and Jena. Two castles – the Oberschloss and the Niederburg – frame the small town and provide an impressive historical backdrop. Medieval food and drinks are available to satisfy your appetite.

Adults €7, children over 1 m €5, children under 1 m free. Family ticket (2 adults + 2 children) €16. The Niederburg is located at Schlossgasse 18 in 99448 Kranichfeld. Paid parking spaces are signposted.
