On 8 and 9 August, Ooidonk Castle in Deinze will be transformed into the setting for Elftopia, a festival where fantasy, medieval spectacle and magical elements come together. This two-day event offers visitors the chance to step into an enchanted world.
Ooidonk is a real castle with centuries-old walls and towers, providing a natural setting for fantastical tales and magical characters. Against the backdrop of this architecture, scenes of fantasy and medieval spectacle unfold.
Elftopia focuses less on strict historical accuracy than on creating an enchanted atmosphere. Castle dwellers, fairies, wizards and other fantastical creatures wander about and interact with visitors. The programme includes performances, shows and interactive activities.
The festival combines music, theatre and visual spectacle. Many participants wear elaborate costumes inspired by medieval design but with fantastical additions. This makes the event visually impressive and ideal for photographers.
