Kaltenberg Knights’ Tournament 2026 – Germany’s largest knights’ tournament
From 10 to 26 July 2026, the legendary Kaltenberg Knights’ Tournament will take place at Kaltenberg Castle in Geltendorf, Bavaria. At Schlossstrasse 10 in 82269 Geltendorf, visitors can look forward to the world’s largest knights’ tournament over three weekends.
Kaltenberg Castle – Bavaria’s tournament castle
Kaltenberg Castle is situated west of Munich in the Uplands of Upper Bavaria. The Wittelsbach castle, with its historic walls and extensive grounds, has provided the setting for the world-famous knights’ tournament for decades.
Programme and attractions
The highlight is the spectacular jousting show featuring lance jousts, sword fights and fireworks in a specially constructed arena. Before and after the tournaments, there is a huge medieval market with over 200 stalls, live music, juggling, fire shows and crafts. For children, there are dedicated play areas and a knighting ceremony.
Opening times and admission
Fridays: Procession 7 pm, tournament show 9–11 pm. Saturdays: Procession 6 pm, tournament show 8–10 pm. Sundays: Gates open 12 noon, tournament show 4–6 pm. Children under 4 free. Children aged 4–14: 15% discount.
