9th Medieval Festival at Steinsberg Castle 2026 – Medieval romance in the Kraichgau
On 25 and 26 April 2026, Steinsberg Castle near Sinsheim in Baden-Württemberg will celebrate its popular Medieval Festival for the ninth time. The striking castle, situated at the highest point of the Kraichgau, offers a panoramic backdrop that is second to none.
Steinsberg Castle – The Compass of the Kraichgau
Due to its exposed location, Steinsberg Castle is also known as the ‘Compass of the Kraichgau’. The octagonal keep from the Staufer era towers over the 333-metre-high Steinsberg and offers a breathtaking panoramic view stretching from the Odenwald to the Black Forest. The well-preserved castle ruins are a popular destination in the region.
Programme and Attractions
Around the keep and the castle walls, craftsmen and traders showcase their wares. Knightly tournaments, medieval music and juggling provide entertainment. The market stalls offer historical crafts, jewellery and herbal products. Hearty food and drink are available to satisfy your appetite.
Opening times and admission
The Medieval Festival is open on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. Admission: €7, costumed visitors €5.
