Philippsburg Medieval Market 2026 – Whitsun in the fortified town on the Rhine
From 23 to 25 May 2026, a large medieval market will take place at the Philippsburg fortress in Baden-Württemberg. The former fortress town on the Rhine, with its historic ramparts, provides an impressive backdrop.
Philippsburg – a fortress town steeped in history
Philippsburg was once one of the strongest fortresses on the Upper Rhine. Remnants of the Baroque fortifications are still visible today and lend the town a special historical charm.
Programme and attractions
Numerous traders and craftspeople will be showcasing their skills on the fortress grounds. Entertainment will be provided by jousting tournaments, medieval music, juggling and fire shows. The stalls will offer mead, hearty food and handmade goods.
Opening hours and admission
Opening hours: Saturday 12 noon–10 pm, Sunday 11 am–10 pm, Monday 11 am–6 pm. Admission: Adults €12, children and costumed visitors €6.
