MYSTIKA Festival Germersheim 2026 – Fantasy & the Middle Ages at the Fortress
From 4 to 7 June 2026, Germersheim Fortress will be transformed into a vast world of adventure: the MYSTIKA Festival invites visitors on a journey through seven themed worlds – the Middle Ages, steampunk, the apocalypse, orcs, fairies & elves, cosplay and spirituality. The organiser is Claudia Michaelis, who previously organised the popular Germares Medieval Market. The festival takes place as part of the 750th anniversary celebrations of the town of Germersheim and is held under the patronage of Mayor Marcus Schaile.
Site and location
The festival site spans three areas: the Fronte Beckers moat, the Hufeisen cultural centre and the Uni-Park. The historic fortress provides an impressive backdrop for the multi-day event.
Programme and attractions
Over 100 traders, artists, re-enactment groups and performers bring the seven worlds to life. Highlights include jousting and exhibition fights, a torture museum, medieval guided tours, a fire ceremony and shamanic ritual, a costume contest on Saturday, walking acts, a blacksmith’s workshop, a steampunk time-travel exhibition, and the Fairy Meadow with a wishing tree and children’s programme. Dogs on a lead are welcome.
