About Medieval spectacle at Düben Castle
Medieval Spectacle at Dueben Castle 2026 – Historical activities on the castle grounds in Saxony
When minstrels tune their instruments and merchants set up their stalls on the castle grounds, the Middle Ages return to Bad Dueben. On 11 and 12 April 2026, a grand medieval spectacle will take place at Dueben Castle in Saxony – organised by the experienced event organiser COEX from Cottbus.
Historic castle as the venue
Dueben Castle is located in the small town of Bad Dueben in the Duebener Heide Nature Park, one of the oldest nature parks in Germany. With its inner courtyard and surrounding green spaces, the medieval castle complex provides an authentic backdrop for the spectacle.
Programme and attractions
Over 40 craftsmen and traders will be presenting their skills, including hand spinners, weavers and jaw harp carvers. Knight shows, juggling and medieval music will entertain visitors throughout the day. As was customary in those days, many artists and performers gather at the market to entertain the people in the most splendid manner.
Opening hours
The medieval spectacle is open on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.
