Viking lamella armour type Birka made of 1.2 mm thick steel lamellas and leather

This lamella armour is a replica of an original from the Viking Age.
Finds from Birka and Visby (Sweden) prove that this type of tank was quite popular in the Viking Age. However, they were in use until the late Middle Ages, as findings from the battle of Visby in 1361 AD have shown.

The scales are 1.25 mm thick and were made in a "D" shape. These were joined to the leather.
On one side the armour is equipped with three adjustable leather straps with bronze buckles and can be individually adjusted to the wearer.
