This hiking trail near Bodenmais is suitable for strollers and offers a total of 27 stations for children to play and discover nature over a length of 1.2-2.5km. Balancing games, pine cone target shooting, climbing games provide entertainment and make this hike an experience for the whole family.
Tips for excursions in the Bavarian Forest
The Rißloch, which is a protected nature reserve, is a 32.9-hectare area near Bodenmais and is one of the highlights of the Arber region, which is also home to our medieval market. Along waterfalls, impressive hiking trails wind through the Bavarian primeval forest.
Built in the 12th century, Weissenstein Castle and the ruins of Weissenstein Castle near Regen that remain today have had an eventful history. The castle tower is still accessible today and offers a great view of the Bavarian Forest. The castle was built on the so-called pile, an equally interesting and impressive stone formation, which invites you to hike around it.

Bavaria's No. 1 geotope is the Great Pile near Viechtach. These quartz rock formations offer an impressive hiking backdrop along pine trees and juniper bushes and, with the remains of the former quarry, provide insight into a craft from a bygone era.
