Viking Boots and Medieval Boots from Vehi Mercatus

Medieval boots and Viking boots are both great choices if you want to add a touch of historical authenticity to your outfit. But what is the difference between these two types of boots?

The Middle Ages covered the period from the 6th-16th centuries, whereas the Viking era only covered part of the Early Middle Ages. The Viking era therefore took place within the Early Middle Ages and we recommend choosing Viking boots accordingly for Early Medieval outfits while Medieval boots provided they are closed with buckles are suitable for the Late Middle Ages.

Medieval boots are usually made of leather and designed to be comfortable and durable. They often have lacing or buckles for a secure fit and may also have decorative details such as cuffs or stitching.

So which type of boot is right for you? It depends on what era you want to dress for. If you need a boot for the early Middle Ages, Viking boots are right for you. They look rather sturdy and go perfectly with outfits inspired by that era. However, if you need a boot for the late Middle Ages or the Renaissance, medieval boots are a better choice.
