Late medieval gauntlet boot in black

High late medieval black gauntlet boot with three leather straps and brass buckle replicas.
The nailed-through leather sole allows a thick leather sole to be attached for durability.

The upper leather fits snugly after greasing and is extremely sturdy. Medieval boots like these can be found in numerous late medieval paintings and have also been found in many places. Although cuffed boots appeared in the late Middle Ages, they were worn with variations until the 18th century.

The cuffs were sewn on so that the upper leather of the cuff was facing outwards.

Made from cowhide, which is dyed black.
It is recommended to grease the boots regularly so that the leather remains supple and lasts longer.

Upper leather: approx. 2mm (0.08 inches)

Due to the expansion of the leather, we recommend ordering the boot one size smaller.
