Medieval shoes dark brown with rubber sole, London

Dark brown medieval shoes with lacing. The sole is made of rubber, which ensures a longer service life. Unlike leather soles, rubber soles wear through less quickly.

Finds of these late medieval half-boots can be found in many museums. Similar shoes were also found in earlier times. This type of shoe can also be found in the work "Shoes and Patterns" by Francis Grew and Margarethe de Neergaard, where it is dated to 1100-1450.
