Double-layered hood of the Middle Ages
The hood was a common headgear in the Middle Ages. It served as protection under a knight's helmet or a crown, but people of all classes also wore hoods to protect their skin and hair from dirt and sun. Waistband hoods can be found in numerous illustrations - which means they can be roughly dated from the 12th to the 15th century.
Our classic natural medieval hood is made of cotton and linen. It is double-layered, which means that no seams can be felt on the inside - making it very comfortable to wear. The two straps allow the hood to be tied together at the chin and adjusted to fit your own head - the measurements given are therefore only Guidelines.
The medieval hood can often be seen at medieval markets, but it is also indispensable at LARP events - a basic of the past and present times of disguise and imitation.
