Brown cow shoes with beautiful black details
In the past, cow shoes were wide, flat and had slits on the front so that the colorful socks could be seen. They replaced the so-called beak shoes. Cow shoes were fashionable from the end of the 15th to the end of the 16th century and were worn by both men and women in Europe. Examples of this type can be found, for example, in the Museum Weißenfels in Neu-Augustusburg Castle and the Bavarian National Museum in Munich.
Our brown-black cowhide shoes / Renaissance shoes are made of cowhide, which makes them comfortable to wear. There is no need to wear colored socks with our Renaissance shoes, as the slits have already been finished with black dyed leather. This black leather is padded to create a slight 3D effect. The black leather has also been used to surround the large opening, so that the edges are well rounded. The brown and black cow shoes have a leather sole with a rubber sole, which ensures a longer lifespan. Unlike pure leather soles, the rubber soles wear through less quickly.
These cow shoes will be a real eye-catcher at the next medieval market, LARP or Renaissance re-enactment. The brass buckle and the accompanying strap allow the shoe to be adjusted to fit your own foot and provide a good hold. The width of the cow shoes makes them comfortable to wear and the color accents give them an elegant look that goes well with many Renaissance costumes.
