The Garden & Camp Machete is Cold Steel's own interpretation of a much-used agricultural tool in Africa.

Cold Steel President Lynn C. Thompson used this African tool for years. On his hunting trips in Africa, he used it to build hideouts and raised hides, or cut tall grass to make makeshift shelters. He was impressed with the simple, utilitarian design of this tool, and made sure to include at least one in his luggage before each extended hunting trip. So it seemed sensible to him to design his own version for an international audience.

The Garden & Camp Machete can be operated quite intuitively and its handling requires little physical effort. With slightly bent knees and evenly swinging back and forth, many cutting tasks can be completed quickly.

Use it in your garden to cut grass and weeds, or as a light and handy cutting tool to clear brush from camps and hunting hides or to clear hunting lanes. Use it to scan the ground in tall grass and probe for obstacles or unwelcome critters.

The garden & camp machete is incredibly fast. It has exceptional reach and its impressive cutting edge hits from many different angles. Its sturdy, sharp, and long double-edged blade is so light that you can carry and use it all day with ease.
