Description

Medieval tunic with detachable sleeves made of cotton, brown

This elaborately crafted, knee-length tunic was made of cotton. The sleeves are removable thanks to the nesting bands and can also be worn without sleeves. The neckline was provided with a slit, which was closed by means of nesting ribbons. The belt has coarse decorative stitches and is so long that it can be tied twice around the waist.

This tunic is a free interpretation of a medieval tunic. The cut is based on tunics from Skjoldehamn (Norway) and Kragelund (Denmark), which date to the High Middle Ages.

The detachable sleeves belong more to the late Middle Ages.
