This medieval hood is made of cotton fabric and has a generous shield. It is closed at the neck with a ribbon. The decorative pleats starting from the shield give the hood not only a particularly beautiful look, but also structure.

In the Middle Ages and early modern times, the hood was the headgear of married women, while young girls and unmarried women were allowed to leave their heads uncovered.
