Pocket knife Kershaw Launch 9

This is the Launch 9. Even though it looks like a smaller version of Kershaw's best-selling Launch 2, the Launch 9 has its own unique appeal. It's easy to carry thanks to its compact size and puts on a refined look.

The Launch 9's drop-point blade is made of CPM 154 and offers a work finish that is a bit rougher than stonewash, helping to more easily conceal the wear marks and scratches that a work knife carries in the field. CPM 154 powder metallurgy blade steel offers excellent sharpness and edge retention, and also features good corrosion resistance, wear resistance and durability.

As with the other models in the Launch series, the handle of the Launch 9 is made of anodized aluminum. A simple matte black was selected for an appealing everyday look. A push button on the handle allows the knife to be quickly opened and unlocked to fold the blade back into the handle after use. The flat profile of the button reduces the risk of accidental release.

The Launch 9 features an integrated backspacer with lanyard loop (ideal for a paracord lanyard) and a convertible pocket clip.

The legal situation regarding the acquisition, possession, handling, carrying and transport of switchblades is internationally very inconsistent. There are numerous deviating regulations according to respective national law.
Annex 2 of the German Weapons Act (WaffG) lists prohibited weapons and objects. According to § 2 para 3, so-called switchblade knives are prohibited. Exception are switchblade knives with a blade that jumps out of the side of the handle, is not ground on two sides and does not exceed a length of 8.5 cm. Nevertheless, switchblades that meet all of these conditions (and thus are not subject to a ban) remain weapons in the sense of the German Weapons Act. Accordingly, acquisition, possession and handling require a minimum age of 18.

For the legal situation in Germany with regard to carrying in public, reference is made to § 42a WaffG and everyone is warmly recommended to obtain information from the weapons law office of his competent district police authority.
