Medieval bund shoes brown with rubber sole

Bund shoes made of one piece of leather were worn mainly in ancient times. They were so-called carbatinae.

The term bund shoe changed in the Middle Ages and in the late Middle Ages it meant tied closed shoes made of leather. However, in ancient times and until the early Middle Ages, the term bund shoe referred to a sandal made of one piece of leather. The cut of this shoe is based on a 6th century Germanic bund shoe find from Oberflacht.

The medieval bund shoe can be well adjusted to your own foot by its lacing. For improved durability on modern sidewalks, we have equipped the shoe with a rubber sole.
