This chainmail leg protection was made from unriveted round rings. The surface of the rings was galvanized, which gives them a certain protection against rust. They can be fastened individually, e.g. with wire, nests or leather cords and/or with leather straps.
Another fastening option is to sew them onto an existing (leather) pair of trousers.

Especially in the late Middle Ages, chainmail leg protection were used as additional protection under plate armour, so that exposed areas were protected.

These chainmail leg protection are therefore ideal for depicting the late Middle Ages.
