Pingsdorf Grape or jug of the 12th - 13th century.
Â
This Pingsdorf Grape was made after an original, which was found in the Rhineland. The so-called Grapen were used in the past as cooking pots, which were hung over the open fire with the two handles or placed directly into the embers with the three legs. The Pingsdorfert pottery was mostly made on a potter's wheel.
Our replica is also formed on a potter's wheel and is then fired and painted with engobe (slip) decoratively.
