Early Medieval Flap Skirt with Border in Dark Blue
Flap skirts like these were very popular and widespread. Originally worn by the Eurasian equestrian peoples, they were also brought to the West in the early Middle Ages. Flap skirts were particularly popular with the Rus and Vikings. There they were decorated with elaborate braids and worn folded over each other. To ensure that the overlap held, it was fastened with a belt.
Our admirable flap skirt is in dark and light blue and is decorated with an elaborate border. It is particularly suitable for winter, as it is lined on the inside and has a wide cut, which means it can also be worn in the so-called twilight look. The length ends approximately at the knees.
