Crawford Model 1, Pocket Knife

Custom knifemaker Wes Crawford is a longtime friend of Cold Steel®. Therefore, Cold Steel® was very happy to collaborate with him on the development of an affordable version of one of his costly Custom Flippers. The result is the Crawford Model 1.

The Japanese 4034 stainless steel blade borrows heavily from the blade of Wes' original custom knife. It features a wide saber grind and a sturdy, sharp point with plenty of belly for cutting and slashing. It has been hollow ground and is so thin and razor sharp that it cuts with the slightest touch. And since Wes' flipper blends seamlessly into the tang, it extends in a flash!

In profile and shape, the handle is very similar to Wes' original. Here, however, it is made of sturdy (yet inexpensive) fiberglass-reinforced nylon with slip-resistant rubber inserts and flat-fitting pocket clip.

The blade lock offers your fingers optimal protection, as the Crawford 1 is equipped with a (patent pending) double-secured side spring lock that is tremendously shock and impact resistant.

Stainless Steel 4034SS
A mid-grade stainless steel from Japan, its higher chromium content provides remarkable corrosion resistance. This steel is also relatively easy to grind and exhibits relatively good wear resistance. It is often used for kitchen knives / cutlery or for rather smaller knives, which have a generally good quality, but are still offered inexpensively.
