Closed Burgonet helmet, 1.6 mm steel

This helmet is a very faithful reconstruction of a 17th century burgonet helmet with visor. The original is currently kept at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, Northern England. The Schaller inspired the development of this type of helmet in the early 16th century.

The reconstruction is made of 1.6 mm thick steel and is closed on the front with a strap made of genuine leather. The visor can be fixed by forged hooks and can be worn closed or open.

Characteristic of the helmet is the inner lining made of padded fabric, which makes it more comfortable to wear on the head.
